2025-2026 Tulsa Powwow Princess

Madison Gayle Bighorse

Madison Gayle Bighorse is an enrolled member of the Osage Nation and descends from the Otoe Ioway, Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Cherokee. She is 17 years old and a senior at Pawhuska High School. She is the daughter of Leah and John Bighorse Sr. Her paternal grandparents are Vann and Anna Bighorse, and the Late Lisa McGuire. The great-granddaughter of the late Toby and Kenny Bighorse Sr., and Jack McGuire and the late Paige Wagoshe McGuire.  Her maternal grandparents are Renee Harris and the late Robert Harris Sr.  The great-granddaughter of the late Geraldine Kent Harris and Luke Harris, and Jim Conley and the late Edna Cass Conley. She received her Osage name from her great-grandfather, Kenny Bighorse. She comes from the Tsi Zho Eagle clan. She comes from the Pawhuska and Grayhorse districts. 

During June, Madison enjoys her time dancing in the Inloshka dances and helping cook traditional Osage meals with her mother and family. She is also an active member of the Native American Church. 


Madison is one of four siblings. Her older brother John, older sister Jaycie, and youngest sister JackLynn. She loves spending time with her family. She especially loves spending time with her favorite nephew, NaKoda Star. Madison is a part of the Wah-Zha-Zhe Youth Council and the Pawhuska NASA Club. She recently joined the National Honor Society at her high school. She attended Girls’ State this past May, where she was sponsored by the American Legion Post 198. 


Madison is incredibly humbled to have been chosen to represent as the 2025-2026 Tulsa Powwow Princess. She is excited to build new relationships throughout her reign.

Tulsa Powwow Princess Requirements

The Tulsa Powwow Princess is an ambassador for the Tulsa Indian Club. 

Requirements are: 

  • Female between 15 and 24 years of age
  • Must reside in the state of Oklahoma
  • Must own or have access to traditional regalia
  • Must not be married or have ever been married  or cohabitating with a significant other
  • Must not have children or have ever had children
  • Must currently be enrolled in school (verification required)
  • Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher (verification required)
  • CDIB card enrollment card or membership letter
